The Ozark Empire Fair and Your Pet

The Ozark Empire Fair has been an Ozarks tradition for over 80 years!  Perhaps you remember enjoying one of the small jugs of root beer with a little plastic monkey attached or eating a funnel cake covered in powdered sugar.  Maybe you enjoy memories of riding the Himalaya while Metalica blasted in your ears or maybe a more peaceful ride on the Rainbow was more your speed.  Does the smell of the livestock exhibitions bring back memories of watching that new calf being born?  Remember escaping the heat with a KTTS fan on a little wooden stick?  Whatever memories you have of fairs past, this year’s fair is sure to create new memories for generations to come.

Opening at 4:00pm on Thursday, July 28th, the 2022 Ozark Empire Fair runs through Saturday, August 6th.  Early bird tickets are on sale now for $7.00 for adults aged twelve and older, $3.00 for children aged six to eleven, and free for children aged five and under.  Prices at the gate increase to $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children.  Check out the fair website for special days where you can save money on admission, food, and more!

The Ozark Empire Fair has a long tradition of excellent grandstand shows each evening.  Over the years, many famous musicians have performed including Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, and, of course, the Ozark Mountain Daredevils.  This year’s lineup proves to be no exception:

  • July 28th- Lou Gramm, the Original Voice of Foreigner

  • July 29th- Vanilla Ice, with special guest the Ying Yang Twins

  • July 30th- O'Reilly Outlaw Monster Truck Show

  • July 31st- TobyMac

  • August 2nd- Read Southall Band with Noah Guthrie

  • August 4th- O’Reilly Night of Destruction Demo Derby

  • August 5th- Hardee’s Extreme Freestyle Bullfighting

The one drawback to the fair is that pets are not allowed.  Only service animals may be brought into the fairgrounds.  The fair may not be the best place to share an experience with your four-legged friend.  Hot summer temperatures can quickly overwhelm a dog especially when lots of walking is involved.  The sounds of the fair as well as the smells of the livestock and food can overload your dog’s senses.

While you take time to enjoy the fair, consider scheduling a pet visit so we can care for your pet while you are away.  We visit your home, let your dog out to use the restroom, replenish food and water, administer any medication, and spend quality time with your pet.  We can also stop by to take your dog on a walk and get out some of that extra energy.  This allows you all the time you need to enjoy the Ozark Empire Fair to the fullest.
